Sometimes, for grins, when I do a Google search, I click on "images." I find it fascinating to see what comes up. Searching my wedding anniversary date so I could include something "fascinating" on a card for my husband (we just celebrated #14), I got 16,800,000 hits, including a drawing from an amateur astronomer's club of something related to the planet Jupiter (honestly, I couldn't figure it out!)... the photograph of an illustrator who died on that date... a punky-looking photograph on a music web site, taken on my wedding date... an art review of a "local" artist... a satellite image of Hurricane Adolph. All sorts of things I usually don't think about or come across in my day to day life.
Google image searches also come in handy when you want to spiff up an e-mail to a friend or loved one. If someone is celebrating a birthday, search for birthday cakes. You can copy the image and paste it into the e-mail using your computer's copy/paste functionality. Someone's sick? Send a picture of a bowl of chicken soup. Want to send a friend a big hello or hug? You can even find pictures of those.
Try it yourself, and let me know what you find!
